“This was a simple scene in our first episode, where Leslie talks about her dream for a park. Greg Daniels was directing Michael Schur’s script. I was looking out the window thinking about what it would be like to stay optimistic and hopeful. How I would need to prepare myself for a new project that would take years, and how it would be hard but amazing work. It is my favorite scene to date.” - Amy Poehler

But you and Leslie like to hold hands and jump off of cliffs together, into the great unknown. You two have a good relationship, I don’t personally know what that’s like, but I’m given to understand that it means you’re gonna land on your feet.

20 Days of Leslie Knope | Day 11 | Favorite Friendship with Leslie
Her friendship with Ann is, of course, my favorite. It’s the most honest depiction of female friendships ever to be seen in television, no, the entirety of pop culture. It’s not catty or filled with snide remarks behind their backs. Yes, The Fight displayed some currents of anger behind the smiles and the hugs and the compliments but it so perfectly captured how women actually “fight,” where we will try to sweep bad feelings under the rug for so long and then it does blow up (and sometimes there is angered-fueled dancing) … no seriously, the show isn’t about what guys they’ll end up with in the end it’s about the friendship between these two KICKASS ladies who are going to get things done.
We all need a Leslie in our lives, but we also need an Ann.
I watch a lot of Lifetime movies. There was this one, “How Far is Too Far Enough: The Terry Palaver Lonagan Story.” This woman had agoraphobia and her therapist was obsessed with her. And he hid in her house, and then he attacked her and tried to eat her toes. Also, her daughter was having sex way too young. So yeah, free self defense class? I’m there.
